What being close makes possible

Most of what I treat changes over a course of sessions, not in one. The body learns a new pattern by repeating it, and at the start that usually means coming weekly. When the clinic is fifteen minutes away, weekly is easy to keep. Nothing needs to be rearranged around a long drive, and the rhythm holds.

Living close also means shorter sessions become useful. A one hour De-Stress session fits into a morning. After a course, Continuing Care keeps you steady with a few follow-ups spread across the season, rather than waiting until things fall apart again.

Close to home, you also find a practitioner shaped in an unusual way. Twelve years of massaging my own twin sons back to wellness taught my hands myofascial release, lymphatic drainage and visceral work, from the body itself. Fifteen years as a scientist taught me to test what I do, and to keep only what works. Your treatment draws on both.

And there is the ground itself. You walk out of the clinic into the hills you already live in. Nothing to brace for on the way home.

Client stories

I went to Ela for acupuncture and not only did I get that, I got so much more. Ela’s approach is a holistic one. During my time with her, she gave me guidance on my health, my diet, my posture, we even did some emotional release work. Following this, I had the acupuncture treatment, and I left feeling like a different person. With the advice and therapy she had given me, I felt empowered to move forward. The acupuncture helped me to move from numbness to ‘feeling’ again. Ela was so attentive, honest, supportive. She gave me so much of her time and energy and I cannot recommend her enough. Thank you, Ela.

Alice, High Peak.

Having had various physio sessions over many years with moderate success, I decided to try an alternative route and that is when I met Ela… after 3 sessions, I felt better than I had in years.
